Edmonds Youth Sports lacrosse program provides youth lacrosse for kids Kindergarten through 12th grade. The premier Edmonds Lacrosse experience where everyone plays; everyone wins.
Answer: Edmonds Youth Lacrosse is a member of the North Sound Youth Lacrosse program (known as NYSL). Being a part of the NYSL league, allows us to play against various teams in Snohomish County and all the way up to the Canadian boarder.
Question: Who is eligible to play?
Answer: All boys from Kindergarten through 8th grade who go to school or live in the Edmonds School District.
Question: When does the season start and end?
Answer: The season begins in February and goes through the month of May. There is a possibility of the season extending until the first week of June.
Question: When are practices and where are they held?
Answer: Practice begins in February, at the beginning of the season for the 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 teams. Kindergarten/2 pratices begin in March (look for the schedule). For the month of February, practices are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 - 8:00. In March, practices are held Monday and Wednesday, from 6:30 - 8:00. K/2 team practices one day a week (Wednesdays) however, can practice on Mondays as well, should the team choose to.
All practices are held at Lynnwood High School. Lynnwood has multiple field options and provides lighting for evening practices while other locations do not. In addition, pricing is competitive and less costly compared to other fields, allowing the Edmonds program to keep registration prices as low as possible.
Question: How much does it cost to play?
Answer: Cost of registration is $365 plus $100 for uniforms for teams 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. K/2 registration is $100, uniforms included.
Question: What does the cost of registration and uniforms pay for?
Answer: The monies received from registration go towards league fees, practice and game fields, referees, tournament fees, equipment replacement (such as lacrose balls, medical boxes for each team, goals, etc...), practice jersey, coaches gifts and the end of season party. For uniforms, each player will receive 2 jerseys (black and yellow) and a pair of shorts.
Question: Are there any additional costs beyond registration?
Answer: Yes, every player is required to have a US Larosse Membership (about $30.00). In addition, families are responsible to pay for their lodging and meals during tournaments.
Question: Why did the cost go up from last year?
Answer: The cost per player has increased due to the purchase of uniforms. In 2019, the club was provided a donation to purchase new uniforms. The club took this opportunity to update our look with a new design, and test the uniforms the club intends to go with in the future. Based on our learnings, adjustments will be made from the 2019 uniform, requiring all players to purchase new uniforms for teh 2020 season.
Question: What is the refund policy?
Answer: 100% refund will be provided until the first Sunday after the first week of practice. A refund of 50% can be provided until the jamboree. No refunds are given after Jamboree.
Question: Do you provide a sibling discount?
Answer: Yes, $20.00 discount is provided.
Question: Do the lacrosse teams travel to play games?
Answer: Local travel is required. Edmonds Youth Lacrosse teams play other clubs assoicated with the NYSL program. Lynden, WA is the furtherst north. In addition, the club will participate in 2 tournaments and one jamboree. The jamboree will be local while the tournaments tend to be East of Seattle, usually in Wenatchee, Yakima or Tri-Cities.
